Beachy Afternoons.

Hello, my loves!

I was loafing around my house today, not really doing much of anything when my beloved ginger Divos hit me up and asked if I wanted to do a blog picture for Boystown Closet with him! I find it hard to say no to him no matter what anyway, and this sounded really fun, so I said sure, lets do it!

He made me giggle a lot...we caught eachother up with our lives, spilled the tea and gossiped like ladies often do...and we bounced between four or five different photo ideas before he decided on the final product...and I got to spend some time with a good friend. Bless his Southern heart for putting up with my unstable internet connection too, I'm sure it didn't help matters with me crashing every half hour :p

So after I said goodnight to this sexy new guy in my life, I decided that I wasn't done with the beach yet. I slipped into a pretty dress from [Royale] and went to stick my toes in the sand! I saw this hair from Exile on Savvy and Ember of Paperdolls within the past 18 hours or so and loved the messiness of it, so I decided to fight the lag and squeeze into Collabor88 just for it(I'll be going back eventually for other summery stuff, this month's round is especially awesome). It's absolute perfection in its imperfectness, and it's exactly what I wanted for a beachy hairdo. Now if only my hair in RL would cooperate like this...

Anyway, I braved the sand and surf in a much-loved favorite pair of heels from Hucci, and I met a group of turtles! Who knows, maybe I'll be able to get closer and observe...

Beachy Days...

Hello, darlings!

I was starting to feel a little bit stressed out with life in general, so I decided to take a mini vacation from nearly all things work related. I hope you've missed me!

During my mini vacation, I decided to go to the beach for a couple days. I'm not really that much of a beachy person in RL or SL, but something about the sand and surf and just being outdoors near the water pleases me greatly, so I decided to drag my dearest Callum along to the beach. We had a nice time together, just laughing and talking about things, with him being so busy with his community sims and me being busy with DJing and the like, we've hardly had any time to catch up with eachother it seems. But that's one of the things I love about my Brit, we've been friends for nearly six years now, and it doesn't matter how much  time goes by between IMs or Facebook messages, it always feels like we just spoke hours before.

So while I've been enjoying a mini vacation, I decided to go shopping! I don't do this nearly as much as before, simply because I can't afford it at the moment(I have to choose between shopping and paying my tier, oh the joys of owning land in SL), buuut I wanted to skip over to FaMESHed for their 3rd anniversary round!! There are soo many awesome things out by such talented content creators, and a bonus is that there are free gifts to celebrate 3 years of FaMESHed!! I remember when this event first started, and how small it was, I'm so happy to see how big it's become and how popular it is.

So anyway, this dress was released by Valentina E at FaMESHed, and it's got such a great nautical theme that I decided to go BACK to the beach and take some pictures! I decided to go with a little bit of a retro nod with my hair, so I dug out my favorite Clawtooth hair, and paired it with a longtime favorite pair of shoes from fri.day! It kind of gives me the look I was going for :)

The sunglasses are new from Reign at this month's round of Uber, they are a wearable item that comes included in the mesh tote that was released! They're so perfect, I don't think I'm ever going to take them off. Luckily they are color-change, so I won't have to take them off for much of anything! :D

What's Your Digits?

I seem to be making a habit of doing Strawberry Singh's Monday Memes on early Tuesday mornings, so I figured...why break the tradition?  Anyway, this one is super fun and a rehash of a meme that she did before(also, this was my very first one that I participated in, you can find it here)...the What's Your Digits challenge! This one's been revamped some, due to the mesh body craze...but here we go!

Meme Instructions: Share your avatar’s digits and/or answer the following questions about mesh bodies. If you decide to share your digits, feel free to add your image to the Digits Flickr Group.

1. Do you currently own a mesh body? If so, do you wear it all the time or just once in a while? If not, skip to the fourth question. I own two mesh bodies: Belleza's Venus body and the Maitreya Lara body :D I haven't taken my mesh body off since I bought the Maitreya body.

2. What is your preferred mesh body available on the market right now? I absolutely adore the Maitreya body. I purchased the Belleza body before the Maitreya body was released, and I think I've worn it all of four times since I bought it...I haven't taken my Maitreya body off since I purchased it except for when I clean my inventory up.

3. Have you changed your shape since you started wearing the body? I made some slight changes, yes. Caiti has been a short, curvy girl for years in SL, but I was never able to push the sliders of my body around and give her the full hips, butt, belly and breasts that I wanted her to have. With the mesh body, I am able to give her the thick thighs that I have wanted her to have for years, but was never really able to do, due to the constraints of the default avatar. I can't stop looking at her anymore!! 

4. How do you feel about mesh bodies in general? I adore some of them. I am in love with the Lara body, and I love Belleza's body as well, because they are soooo user-friendly and you can really customize your body and not look like everyone else. I am personally not fond of The Mesh Project bodies, only because I hear horror stories and stories of frustration from the men and women who own the bodies, it just sounds like it's more trouble than it's worth to own their body.

From a photography standpoint, I am in love with the bodies too, because it cuts down a lot of time that I'd previously have to spend in Photoshop liquifying the jagged edges and sharp corners that would come from poses, or smooth out the curve of a breast or hip. 

5. What is one thing you would request from designers when it comes to mesh  bodies?  Well, I haven't really had many complaints at all, so I'll echo what Strawberry Singh said in her post: A universal applier HUD please!! :D

The End of Winter?

Good lord, I sure hope it is. I adore winter, it's my favorite season, but...after getting blasted with feet of snow in less than a month in my area(New Englander, baby!), I'm ready for it all to be over and done with...which is why I'm so glad I took a shopping trip a couple of days ago with a friend of mine, and ran across this happy dress by Atomic at N21!

The colors are so reminiscent of spring...pastels make me so happy, and this dress comes in three sweater color options(a light blue and purple are also available), so it's a perfectly sweet way to welcome in the changing of the seasons!

I'm also wearing the newest release from Glamistry, called Aster! These shoes come in 12 individual colors, or you can buy the fatpack for L$997...my advice is to ALWAYS buy the fatpack, but that's because I'm obsessed with shoes. The awesome part about these shoes? A size to fit the Maitreya Lara high foot, the Belleza Venus high heel foot, AND your Slink feet are included in your purchase! :D

Usually I would build my own backgrounds for blogging photography, but my home sim hasn't been switched over to spring textures on the ground yet, so I decided to browse through my Flickr stream to see what I could find. I came across Strawberry Singh's Friday Find for last week(found here) highlighting a sim that is owned by one of my other favorite blogger/photographers, Harlow Heslop, called Blithe. So I went to check it out, and it was perfect...absolutely what I was looking for in a location for this dress. So thank you Harlow, for making something gorgeous and for sharing it with the rest of the grid.

LOTD #005

So today was a good day. I went shopping(which isn't really a surprise), and ended up at Uber first. The round this month is Celestial, and while there were some really awesome things released...I dunno, it just didn't speak to me for the most part. I DID grab the new Glam Affair skin, but that goes without saying. I'm such a whore for Glam Affair, and I've got like...three skins of theirs that I haven't even worn yet :p

So while I was at Uber, I was in a Skype call with my darling friend Dex, and he was bored...so I said to him "Come shopping with me then!"...and he decided to come along. Poor him. He spent ten minutes trying to get into Uber, then when he finally got in, he was his usual shady nasty self. Which I love the most about him. 

After I picked up a couple things from Uber, I took him to the Fantasy Collective, where I ended up buying a dress and a bikini(which I'll blog at a later date, I'm so excited for it)...then we went to a new monthly event that's hit the grid, called Trend3. Par for the course, he was shady and sassy, and I sort of ignored him a little bit, but...I made him come and judge me in this brand new dress that I picked up from David Heather. I am SO in love with this dress, and I've been watching this designer get better and better with his creations, so seeing this dress just got me really happy :D

I absolutely adore the way this dress clings to the body, and the texturing and wrinkles in the mesh are really realistic. There were a few girls in the booth when I went in there, and they were gushing about how happy the hard nipples in the mesh made them, which made me giggle and agree in local. I paired this dress with a new release from Moda Designs, called the Valerie! Of course Dex decided to hate my choice of shoe color, but I didn't listen. These shoes come hudded with 24 different texture choices, changable in six different places, all for 99L!! 

I met Dex at Boystown, back when I really started going there more, and getting to know the regulars and the staff. He is the Monday and Wednesday night DJ at BLU Dance Bar, and the Tuesday night DJ at DARKbar, the leather and fetish club that I also DJ for. He's incredibly shady and slutty(love you), and just a really great friend to have. 

...maybe people will recognise him better in his natural state, which is shirtless. 

I've got him posing in a recent release from Poseology, called Adham...named after our boss, friend, and the "Mayor" of the Boystown sims. 

I brought Dex over to my house later on to offer him drinks and to make up for making him carry all my shopping bags around, and to thank him for not dropping them and breaking them just because. Muah, darlin!

The title of this post was inspired by my Zannadoo, who also suggested the song:

A Broken Promise.

This has been quite the month and a half or so for me, emotionally. And every time I sit down and try to think about what to write here, how to put my heartbreak into words, I struggle. It's still really raw, I think. 

To think...I gave four and a half years of my life and devoted myself to a man who would end up just...disappearing, when I needed him the most. Do I know what's going on with him? No. I have so many questions that I want answered, but it fills me full of rage, anger...a deep sense of betrayal and hurt, when I think too much on this subject.

So, I'm just going to rip the band-aid off, and let my pain and hurt flow through this post...then never write about it, about him, publicly...ever again. Fair warning, this post is probably going to be very disjointed. I don't feel like putting anything in an orderly fashion tonight. Don't like? Oh well, write your own post.

I feel like I am worth more than someone disappearing on me, never to speak to me again. Especially after sharing so much of myself with this man. We met in Secondlife, and after getting to know eachother for about four or five months...decided to meet in RL. Once we met, we discovered that we were compatible and so we became a couple in RL. He would come out and see me twice a month or more, and we got to know eachother better...but now that I think about it, he learned so much more about me than I ever did him. 

He was a married man when we met, and told me that he couldn't get divorced because infidelity wasn't grounds for divorce in his state...and okay, maybe I should have done the research...but I'm a trusting person, and I tend to believe people when they tell me something, which can be so very dangerous to me. So...I never did any research. Some other things he told me didn't really make sense, but again...my trusting(and ultimately stupid...yes, I feel stupid, there's nothing that will change that feeling) nature let it go. 

I feel duped, my heart just won't stop hurting, because he just...stopped communicating with me after the 24th of December. I had to find out through his co-workers that he had lost his phone and was only reachable through emails, I had to find out from calling his work that he was indeed there, because he wasn't answering my phone calls, or returning my voicemails...

All the while, I'm thinking "well, this is bad, but he'll come and he'll save me before I am homeless, just like he promised me. He won't let me live on the streets, because he loves me, he'll take care of me just like he said..." and guess what? He didn't. He didn't live up to his promises, and I just...I don't know why. I don't know what I did to deserve this. I wouldn't ever wish this level of devastation on my worst enemy. My heart feels like somebody just pulled it out of my chest and stomped on it, then ran it over with a steamroller for good measure. 

I hate the feeling that I have now, that I am afraid to trust again. I have only recently been able to trust again after the whole ordeal I went through last year, with another person who was extremely close to me betraying me in such a horrible, complete fashion. Like I said before, I am a very trusting person, and for how cynical I come across as, I do try to see the good in everything and everyone...I am so afraid that I will lose that part of me, but...maybe it would be best if I did. This teaches me that at least I need to learn more about people in the future. 

I wish I could speak to him one last time. I feel like I am worth a goodbye...I feel like I have just been tossed aside because he didn't want me anymore. It's a miserable, shitty feeling, and again...my heart just feels like it's breaking, someone's wringing it out. 

I am incredibly grateful for the people who have been in my corner and by my side through this entire thing. My sister Bella did a lot of digging and researching for me while I was off the grid for a month, and found out some information for me that I needed to hear. I am also thankful for my squishie, my Kai who was and is continuing to be my other big supporter. All of my friends and family who read this...thank you for loving me, thank you for listening to me, thank you for making me laugh...for distracting me when I needed distracting...words cannot express just how thankful I am for the people in my life right now. They make logging into Secondlife worth it.

The weather outside in my RL is still super duper chilly, and I love to dress my avatar according to the seasons outside my door! This cardigan from Blueberry was just released today, and it just looks so warm and cozy...definitely something I would wear and curl up in. 

This necklace was recently released by Lapointe&Bastchild, for free, in support of the attack on free speech and the press over in Paris. Go and grab it, it's lovely!

Ugh, that post title looks so lame...but I can't think of much to write this morning. 

So when I'm all out of inspiration for blog titles, that's what it'll be! :p

Oh, I do want to give props to the creator of the pose I'm rocking...Ritch Nicholls of Poseolgy is back to making poses again after a nice long break, and this is one of his older poses that I happened to pick up on the Marketplace. Oh, and also...for those of you ladies who own the Maitreya body, there was another update released! The newest version is 2.1, and these are the things that have been fixed:

- Neck on tattoo layer full length

- Texture loading issue resolved

- Nails length no longer influenced by gloves on/off

- Small fix on toes
